The state of Punjab has approximately 553 kms.of international borders with Pakistan, comprising the districts of Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tara Taran and Firozpur.
Hussainiwala Border is located 11 kilometres from the village of Hussainiwala in Ferozepur district in the Indian state of Punjab. The border is situated near the banks of Sutlej River and it is in the village of Ganda Singh Wala on the Pakistani side.
The Wagah border is a post between India and Pakistan. It has become famous for the beating the retreat ceremony which includes the closing of international gates and the lowering of the flags of both the countries. Around 5000 people visit the Wagah border, which has become very popular among tourists all over the world.
